This month we have two new utilities in the CADD Toolbox for Revit to help with your Revit views... in very different ways.
The CADD Toolbox is your one-stop-shop for all the CADD resources right inside Revit itself. One of the benefits of the system is that as soon as we release a new tool, it shows up for you to use.
This month's new utilities include:
View Info Export Tool
Export an Excel report of view, view templates, view types, views on sheets, and view filters for easy review and reference. Just run it with an open Revit project file, then tell the utility where you want to save the Excel file. That's it. A nice formatted series of tabs with information to help you get a handle on what views you have and how they are organized.Batch Family Preview Updater
This utility helps clean up your library by creating a new 3D view with consistent graphics over a folder of families to set as the preview image for a tidy group of thumbnails in Windows Explorer. It does its best to get the view angle right, but obviously with so many different ways to create Revit families, sometimes it might not be showing what you want to show. Luckily, the new view is right in your RFA so you just need to tweak the camera angle, save the file, and you are all set.View the full list of CADD Toolbox Utilities here.
