On the ninth day of CADD Care, the CADD team gave to me… CADD Community!

Every year, the CADD Community makes our Twelve Days of CADD Care list and it’s one of our favorites! We think it's the gift that keeps on giving. The CADD Community, powered by Global eTraining, is our online portal that provides our members with exclusive access to valuable industry resources including content packs, videos, apps, interactive courses, and whitepapers – all available 24/7(!!). It's designed by industry experts and built to help our clients use their Autodesk software more efficiently.

Twelve Days of CADD Care (Day Nine): CADD Community

We are excited to share that the CADD Foundation has partnered with <a href="https://www.duncan-parnell.com/">Duncan-Parnell</a> to sponsor a Habitat for Humanity build in Charlotte, NC.  Duncan Parnell has sponsored and built eight (!!) houses, and we're happy to have been able to co-sponsor a build with them this year.

Earlier this month, nine members of the CADD Family put on their hard hats, picked up some hammers, and joined the Habitat for Humanity crew in Charlotte to work on the house build. The build is expected to be finished at the end of January 2023, and once complete, the Mohammed Family will move in and take ownership. We’ve had the pleasure of meeting the Mohammed Family throughout the course of the build, and are proud to be part of helping their homeownership dreams become reality.

The CADD crew made a ton of progress on build day. They were able to help finish the framing of the house and prepare for the roof to be installed. They checked off a number of punch list items and installed 13 windows– that’s a lot for one day!

Becoming a homeowner will allow The Mohammed Family to dream bigger and plan more for the future. With the financial stability of owning a home, they will be able to save money for their children’s college and work toward their goal of opening a small business. Since 1976, Habitat for Humanity has helped millions of people worldwide achieve strength, stability and independence through safe, decent and affordable shelter. Habitat for Humanity of the Charlotte Region was founded in 1983, and since then has served more than 3,500 families. Their vision is to have a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Drainage design can be a time consuming, complicated and costly process. It has never been more important to complete your sites drainage design in the most efficient and cost-effective way possible. Join us to see how InfoDrainage is helping utilities and consultants streamline the drainage design process and helping build reports and ensuring that their sites have effective drainage. In this presentation we will look at preliminary sizing of pipes using rainfall data, setting up different phases for sites, and different reporting information within InfoDrainage.

About the Presenter:
Midori worked in engineering consulting as a water resource engineer, before joining Autodesk. Her experience ranges from hydraulic and hydrologic analyses for riverine flood mapping and modeling for FEMA related projects and master drainage plans, to green infrastructure and LID design for site level engineering projects.

About the Presenter:
Youssef is a water enthusiast, with 5-years of hydraulic and transient modeling experience supporting some of the nation’s largest public and private water utilities. He is a Rutgers alumnus, having completed both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil and environmental engineering. He is also a licensed professional engineer in New Jersey.
