I wanted to take a moment to talk about something: Assets - Model Based Workflows
In a recent update to the Autodesk Construction Cloud, Revit Information can now be used to create Assets in Autodesk Build. That means we can use a model to extract and map asset information.
Now... I talk about Asset Management during the Construction Phase a good bit. Anyone who has done it or must do it knows it is no easy task. Using the references tool to link files, Inspection Forms, Schedule Information, the Approved Submittals, RFIs, and field status in Assets makes quick work of gathering (and organizing ) all that information.
I think it goes without saying that this means all those Revit Modeling Requirements, Modeling Standards, etc. start to become paramount to the downstream success of handing over information from the builder to the owner. BUT as Owner BIM and Project Execution requirements become more and more common, Contractors will be able to immediately benefit from a well-coordinated Revit Model.
As if it needs to be said, the model is totally more than just a pretty picture!
